Know your gear The Cisco Service Module is engineered to be compatible with the Cisco Catalyst 8300 Series Edge Platform Switch. It is a layer-2 switch module that brings high-density Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP)/Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+), 1 Gigabit, 2.5 mGiG and 10G connectivity to the Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISRs). This module also provides a 10G-capable internal uplink to the central forwarding data plane on modular ISR platforms.
